Chocolate Bark | A Tasty Treat

February 17, 2017

Before I really knew what Chocolate Bark was, I thought it was a long and hard process to make. When I was at Food Network, a fellow intern brought in some festive bark to pass out on her last day and I thought to myself --wow what a great little treat, wonder if it's hard! Silly me, it's the easiest and yummiest dessert you can make! Melt chocolate, spread it out, top it with nuts or fruit, and freeze it till it's firm. Throw some sea salt on top and you're in for a real treat! Then break it up, wrap it up, and give it as a gift, or serve it up for a tasty post dinner delight!

Here is how you do it!

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium heatproof bowl, add the chocolate. Bring a saucepan filled with an inch of water to a slow simmer and set the bowl on top, stirring the chocolate occasionally until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

Using an offset or rubber spatula, Spread the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet in a thin layer. Sprinkle with cranberries, seeds, coconut flakes, and Maldon salt.

Chill in the freezer until firm, about 15 minutes. Remove from freezer and break chocolate bark into smaller pieces.
